Pro-Tip

The 13th is the toughest of the par fives, requiring an accurate drive to avoid the bushes right and deep rough left. For the longer hitter the hole often draws you over to the left away from the bushes, however a good line is to hit straight down the line of the bushes as seen from the tee as the hole does open up a little on the right hand side. Almost certainly a three shot Par 5, the second shot asks the question “can I clear the two fairway bunkers at 130 yards short of the green, or should I play short?”. With the correct decision being made, a relatively flat pear-shaped green awaits, having two greenside bunkers to the left, a long run-off area along the right hand edge, and a tricky fairway bunker about 15 yards short. It often feels like an accomplishment to just get on this green in regulation, then being relatively confident that a good two putts will result in a well-earned par.
