Seaton Carew Golf Club

Welcome to Seaton Carew Golf Club

Seaton Carew Golf Club is delighted to announce that it has been invited by the EGU to host the 2014 English Men’s Amateur Stroke Play Competition. It will be the second time the Club has played host to the Brabazon Trophy, the last time being in 1985. On that occasion a young 19 year old called Peter Baker tied on 296 with north-east golfer Roger Roper.

If you fancy a similar examination of your golfing ability then come along to Seaton Carew Golf Club. Situated in the dunes just north of the mouth of the River Tees we have some of the best links land you could find in this part of England. With 18 holes designed by the legendary golf architect Dr Alister MacKenzie, and 4 more created by the renowned Frank Pennink, we have the ability to provide a supreme golfing challenge for players of all abilities.

Founded in 1874, we are the 10th oldest course in the country and amongst the oldest fifty in the world, providing a true links challenge for all golfers throughout the whole year.  A course of nearly 7000 yards off  the championship tees provides a test for even the best golfer, yet one that is also inviting for the more regular club golfer.

To match the superbly presented course, the club offers a welcoming atmosphere with excellent hospitality in the traditional clubhouse and modern professional shop. Seaton Carew Golf Club is a special place to play golf and to relax with friends and family, where people matter and traditions count.

During its 138 year history Seaton Carew has played host to a number of other prestigious national tournaments including the Carris Trophy in 1996 and the British Mid Amateur Championship in 2001.

The Club has recently been voted 12th by National Club Golfer magazine in their Top 100 British courses under £50. As they say "It is easy for those travelling north towards Scotland to ignore Seaton Carew but if you are looking for a genuine links experience, great value and a warm welcome then this ticks all the boxes".

Should you follow their recommendation we are confident you will enjoy our superb course, historical tradition and typical northern hospitality, and should you wish to join us on a more permanent basis details of our membership rates are available here

So come and enjoy one of the best championship links courses in the north of England – Seaton Carew.
