Northern Golfer England Golf has selected Seaton Carew Golf Club to host the Under-16 international match between England and Spain this spring. The event will take place April 5-6 with the elite teams of boys and girls going head-to-head over four rounds – with foursomes matches each morning followed by singles matches in the afternoons. Players will compete over the Micklem layout at Seaton, which welcomed the best male and female golfers in the country in 2024 for the English Amateur Championship. Carnoustie, Brora and Dunbar are among links associated with Braid in Scotland. But it’s a Braid links just south of the border in North-East England that entranced me on a trip last year to play courses of architectural merit I had never seen before.
